Before the party, we had some fun pj time in the morning. Staying comfy before getting out swimsuits on.
We went to the Gardner public pool for the party. You can rent it for the morning as they don't open until 1pm daily. We had the kids' area and William LOVED it! He had his puddle jumper vest on and he just explored and explored. He even went down a couple of the slides. I carried him into the deeper (3 foot) water and he was kicking his legs and trying (unsuccessfully) to get away from me to be on his own. I have a feeling he's going to be quiet the little fish! After the party, he took a nice, long nap as he was exhausted!
July 4
July 5- Today, I went up to my classroom to get some work done so it was Dada & William day! They walked to get coffee (and play on their patio). Will entertained everyone else there with his charming personality. Then, they walked up to my school and played on the playground for a bit before coming in for lunch.
July 6- Today was a scorching day! It was the hottest day of the year so far, I think. We went to the park nearby our house, but only lasted about 25 minutes.

Dinner with the Harding family to celebrate Dylan's Eagle Scout & just to be with them because we miss them living on our street!
Dada repainted Will's car! |
July 7- Today, Will hung out with his Pop Pop in Shawnee so Bret & I could go to IKEA and Lakeshore (teacher store). They had lots of fun playing with toys, running around, and wrestling. We topped off the visit with Old Shawnee Pizza, yum!
After his afternoon nap, we showed Will what we got for him at IKEA. A new easel to draw on! We gave him some crayons and he got to work, all left-handed!! We did get a mark on the wall, but at least it was yellow so you can't tell right now. We will need to get some magic erasers to fix that and future masterpieces on the walls.
snapchat fun with Grandma Brown |
July 8- Before it got too toasty today, William and I went on a walk! We walked to Grand Star Elementary, about a mile from our house. They have a fun (and enclosed/locked!) playground for preK students. Everything, just about, was easy for William to do. He played and got sweaty for about an hour or so while I watched and listened to music.
Some big kids came to play and all William wanted to do was go play with them. He stood at the fence and just watched them play... It was time for us to head home anyway, so we walked home and played in the air conditioning for a bit to cool down!
