Light The Night - KC

Bret's mom is a lymphoma survivor and we attend Light The Night each year to celebrate her survivorship! She is an amazingly strong woman and a great inspiration for me.

Although Bret had to work that evening, he was able to come by briefly to help celebration his mom.

William's life goal was achieved that evening when he met Darth Vader. Bret has been reading him Star Wars books since he was born and Vader has become his favorite. Much to my dismay, our son is a fan of the Dark Side.

Papa & Nana made it out as well!

Louisburg Cider Mill

Today we visited the Louisburg Cider Mill. It was their opening weekend with lots of pumpkins and crafts. But most importantly, APPLE CIDER DONUTS! They are little bites of Heaven to enjoy. William has had regular donuts, but these were his first apple cider donuts. He was an instant fan ;)

Delightful!

William & FroYo

Today was William's first time having fro-yo of his own. He has tried it before, but usually shies away because of how cold it is. Today, Bret picked out strawberry flavor and put blueberries and strawberry chunks in it. He was much more receptive to it, probably because he LOVES fruit. As you can see from the pictures, spoons are optional when eating fro-yo ;)

New Addition to William's Crib: A Pillow

We decided to test out a pillow for William in his crib. He has been sleeping just fine without a pillow and we weren't/aren't completely sure at what age a pillow is usually introduced. So we just went for it! He seems to love it. Whenever I go to get him up in the morning, his head is laying on the pillow and he seems so comfy!

Thursday Morning with Dad

Currently, Bret has Wed/Th/Fri off work. He likes to take advantage of these days and spend time with William. He takes William to daycare instead of me (so I get some extra morning time in my classroom, bonus!). I love the bond they have :)

9/11 Memorial Walk

On September 11, 2016, the Johnson County Sheriff's Dept lost an officer. He was hit while performing a traffic stop at highway level speeds. His name was Brand Collins and his badge number was 745. The JCSO put together a memorial to him. They wanted participants to hep complete 745 miles at the MidAmerica Nazarene Annual 9/11 Memorial Walk. We participated as a family. William even walked a lap by himself (on the lap, he touched almost every cone, spilled four cups of water, and watched the MNU football players practice, then was mad that practice ended).

Morning Snuggles with William

Now that we are back into the swing of school & daycare, William and I's one-on-one time is drastically less. But I try to take advantage of the time we do have together. Each morning, William gathers his blankets and moves to the edge of his crib. I pick him up and we snuggle in the chair together. Sometimes he read books or plays with me, but it is out special, sweet time together. I am so thankful for it.
