Summer Outings: June 19-22

June 19: We met our friends the Honas family at Veterans Park, just around the block from our house. They are SO GOOD with William and actually argue as to who is going to help him next ;)

June 20: We couldn't stay inside today! So we went to Gardner Elementary to check out their preK playground. It was renovated a couple of years ago and there was lots for William to do! He climbed up on the play structure, went down the slides a couple of times, tested out the swings (specially designed for little kids & persons with disabilities), and tried the see saw. It was warm out, so we were sure to take water breaks and went over the the library after we were done playing to get some a/c before heading to lunch.

June 21: Today was pool day! We went to our neighborhood pool with William in his puddle jumper life jacket and had so much fun! It was his first time in a pool since last summer when he was seven months old in a swim class at the YMCA. Before we left, we took some silly pictures to get our day started!

Will did very well at the pool! I slathered on the sunscreen because I'm so nervous about his pale, sensitive skin. He didn't mind wearing the puddle jumper (we had tried it on the evening before). He had swim trunks, a swim shirt, sunglasses, and his hat on to protect himself (overboard??). Quickly, he didn't want the sunglasses on, but everything else stayed. I took a couple water-streaming bath toys for him to play with while he was in the water. He walked around the baby pool, splashed, and played with his toys. Then, he got too smart! He would let his knees go out and have the puddle jumper 'save' him so he floated for a second or two. This made mama nervous! He thought it was HILARIOUS!! We will definitely be back!
